A musical composition with roots in improvisation

Fantasy (or Fantasia) originated from improvisation, and is typically written for solo instruments. It is a form of composition that is free in structure. Composers are free to express their musical inspiration and artistic imagination.

Although fantasia can be applied to various solo instruments, keyboard instruments are the most commonly used.
