Edward began his musical studies at the age of 13 with Mr Philip Lee Ka Chong. He obtained his Bachelor Degree at The Education University of Hong Kong, where he studied with Mr Tony Tsui. He then furthered his studies with Mr Jacques Mauger at Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris and HEMU – Haute Ecole de Musique, where he completed his cycle of concertiste and master degree in 2019 and 2022.
During his time at HEMU – Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, Edward was awarded second prix à l’unanimité at the international Léopold Bellan Music Competition 2020.
Edward also studied Jazz trombone with well-known jazz artist Mr Nils Wogram and baroque sackbut with Mr Jean Jacques Herbin.
As a versatile musician who plays both classical and jazz trombone, Edward has regularly performed with a number of music groups around the world including Opera de Lausanne, Jazz In Fribourg Orchestra, Neues Zürcher Orchester, HONG KONG Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Symphonic Orchestra, Happy Go Lucky Big Band and Island Express Jazz Orchestra.
Throughout the years, Edward has enjoyed working with some of the finest musicians in the world including Jacques Mauger, Eric Miyashiro, Antonio Hart, James Zollar, Justin Robinson, Alex Sipiagin, Ted Lo, Eugene Pao .
Yanny started playing trombone in secondary school when she was 12. She has achieved the Trinity College London (ATCL) diploma and Grade 8 Music Theory when she was 17 years old. After secondary school, she started her professional training at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in Trombone Performance under Maciek Walicki and Zachary Bond when she was 19 and obtained Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree in 2020. Then she continue her study in HKAPA and completed her Degree of Master of Music in 2023.
Yanny is an active trombone player in Hong Kong. She works as a freelance player in different orchestras and bands such as the Hong Kong Professional Winds, Hong Kong Symphonic Winds, Hong Kong Orchestra, and Hong Kong String Orchestra etc. She has often participated in many master classes and seminars to enhance her playing and teaching skills, such as Thailand Trombone Festival,Singapore Low Brass Academy, Joseph Alessi‘s Trombone Seminar and Slider Asia.
Yanny is an extremely passionate teacher and has been teaching since 2016. She is currently teaching at several different schools giving low brass classes and private trombone lessons.
She is also strong at teaching the students from young age, such as in the age of 4 to 5.
Wong Hong Wang, Cyrus is currently doing Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music Studies at the Hong Kong Baptist University. He graduated from TWGHs Wong Fut Nam College in 2018. Since 2011, Wong has started studying performance of trombone under the coach of Mr. Tony Tsui Siu Fai, and has actively participated in various symphonic events with school band, including various trombone solo and concert band secondary school class in the Hong Kong School Music Festival. Wong and his alma mater participated in the Europees Muziekfestival voor de Jeugd in Neerpelt in 2013 and 2015, as well as participated BeiJing Music Exchange Tour with Tung Wah Academy of Music in 2016. During his secondary school life, he attained ABRSM grade 8 Trombone & Euphonium with distinction and merit respectively in 2016, as well as being invited to participate the ABRSM High Achievers Concert in 2017. After graduated from his alma mater, Wong had begun to read Music Studies in Hong Kong Baptist University. He attended in various ensembles offered by the university, such as the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, jazz orchestra and baroque orchestra. Besides inter school music activities, Wong is also active in local music activities. Wong has been joining the Hong Kong Festival Youth Wind Orchestra since 2013. Afterwards he also joined the Hong Kong Youth Wind Orchestra in 2019 and local jazz band Happy Go Lucky in 2020. In the meantime, Wong has been constantly been invited to different orchestra as guest player, including Galaxy Wind Ensemble in 2017 ;Hong Kong Wind Chamber Philharmonia, local jazz bands Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra and The Big Band Express in 2019, as well as local band Uchu Yurei since 2022. Wong joined the Jacques Mauger Trombone masterclass organised by The Brass Molecule and the Jörgen van Rijen trombone masterclass in Singapore organised by The Low Brass Academy in 2019. In 2021, Wong passed Trinity LTCL Trombone Recital.
陳遨天於 2021 年完成英國北方皇家音樂學院碩士學位,主修上低音號,師承 Steven Mead 和 David Thornton。
陳氏中學時期開始學習上低音號,其後於 2019 年完成香港浸會大學音樂系榮譽學士學位,中學和大學其間一直跟隨香港小交響樂團首席大號手林榮燦先生。
此外陳氏亦致力參與樂團表演,例如香港青年管樂演奏家樂團,香港浸會大學管樂團等等。 同時陳氏亦為香港浸會大學低音四重奏一員。
Rossano Law, International Artist of Hootersmae Brass and Perantucci Mouthpieces, graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and received his Master of Music Degree with Distinction. Studied under Matthew White and Philippe Schwartz.
Rossano started playing the Euphonium at the age of 8 and the Trombone at the age of 10. Under the guidance of Tse Luen Wah, he has won a total of 10 First Prizes in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival at his young age. Rossano was also the winner of the SliderAsia 2011 Trombone Festival open competition.
Rossano completed his Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the guidance of Ben Pelletier. He also participated in many many masterclasses and has been coached by Steven Mead, Misa Mead, David Childs, Bastien Baumet, Adam Frey, Patrik Randefalk, Chris Robertson, Sarah Willis and Jonny Bates. Apart from being a soloist, Rossano has also been involved in a variety of music performances including Wind Ensembles and Orchestras. He was the Bass Trombonist of Hong Kong Chamber Wind Philharmonia. He has also played with the City Chamber Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Orchestra and Macao Orchestra as a freelance musician.
During his time living in the UK, Rossano was a member of The Staffordshire Band. He has also been invited to perform in public often as a soloist and received a lot of positive feedback.
Chiu Hon Kuen Jimmy graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts obtained the Master of Music, majoring in Trombone Performance. He studied with Zachary Bond who is the Brass Lecturer of the Hong Kong Academy for Performance Arts, also a world-class bass trombone soloist. Jimmy started his trombone playing in St. Bonaventure College and High School from Mr. Ng Chung Pang when he was twelve years old. After that he followed Maciek Wailcki in his diploma and bachelor’s degree.
Jimmy is an active trombone player in Hong Kong. He had been invited to be a soloist with the Hong Kong professional Winds in 2018 performing the ‘Color’ Concerto for trombone by Bert Appermont in their annual concert. In 2021, Jimmy won the Concerto Competition in HKAPA, and performed Tomasi Trombone Concerto the Academy Symphony Orchestra.
In 2021, Jimmy was selected as the member of the Young Pro-Platform (YPP) of the Orchestra Academy Hong Kong, for giving a lot of chamber performance in series of programme of the season. Then in 2022, Jimmy selected into the fellowship programme as a fellow member playing a full-time position in the season of 2022-23 in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
Moreover, He is the principal trombone player of the Hong Kong Symphonic Winds. He always appears as a guest player in different professional orchestra such as Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Opera Hong Kong Orchestra and Hong Kong Professional Winds.
Jimmy has pays full effort to strive for the improvement for his trombone performance. He took lessons with different world-first trombonists like Jorgen Van Rijen, Brett Baker, Fabrice Millischer, Matt Vaughn, Domingo Pagliuca and participated in the master class of a lot of famous trombonists such as Jay Friedman, Jeremy Wilson and Ricardo Molla.
Moreover, Jimmy has participated in different festivals such as Slider Asia 2015, Alessi Seminar 2019 and Singapore Low Brass Academy 2020.
