Hong Kong Fusion Chamber

Orchestra Training | Music Education and Performance

Chamber Introduction

Hong Kong Fusion Chamber was established in February 2016 with the aim of promoting music culture and focusing on the quality of music education. The Hong Kong Fusion Chamber has two main components: the non-profit string orchestra of the same name, and the Fusion Chamber Academy, a music school run by its members. Currently conducted by Hilson Yip, a concert cello soloist and a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Hong Kong Fusion Chamber emphasizes training in ensemble techniques, rhythm, phrasing, string playing techniques, music analysis, and aural skills.

Through orchestra training led by experienced instructors, we aim to enhance the skills and accomplishments of our members. We also explore various music genres, including classical music, film scores, popular songs from around the world, and anime music, ensuring that every student can enjoy and share music while making like-minded friends.

About the Orchestra

The orchestral training courses are divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. They use systematic teaching methods to instruct students in music theory, sight-reading, bowing, and fingering techniques. The goal is for students to master proper playing techniques in a short period. The lessons are conducted in a fun and relaxed manner, ensuring that students not only learn the technical skills of playing their instruments but also enjoy the process of learning music.
