Aggie Ching, a skilled and versatile music professional with a diverse range of expertise. With a strong presence in both the education field and the pop music industry, she offers a unique perspective and valuable insights to her students.

With two years of experience as a secondary school music teacher, she has acquired a comprehensive pedagogy in teaching group classes and utilizing engaging activities to foster musical learning. Her teaching methods create an interactive and dynamic environment that encourages students to explore their musical abilities.

Ching has been teaching violin since 2016. Her students have achieved notable accomplishments in instrumental examinations while also developing a solid foundation in music theory. Aural training and duet playing are integral components of her lessons, cultivating musicality and promoting collaborative skills.

Kaden Yim

Kaden Yim started learning bassoon at age 11. Yim started his bassoon learning with Miss Angel Cheung On Ki. In 2012, he started his music study in Hong Kong Baptist University for two years, studying from Mr. Kam Shui, former principal bassoon of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Then, he continued his music study in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). He attained Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree in 2018. He studied with Mr. Ting-Yuen Chan since 2019, principal bassoon of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and obtained Master of Music in 2023 from HKAPA.

Kaden Yim actively participate in chamber groups as well as orchestras. He had worked with Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, Ponte Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Orchestra and more. He travelled and performed in different countries including Taiwan, Austria, Thailand, Spain and Singapore. He has participated in international music festivals including International Double Reed Society Conferences, Asian Double Reed Association Conference, World Music Competition, Singapore Double Reed Weekend and more. In 2018, he was award Musicus Society’s Bank of China and Tung Foundation Overseas Training Bursaries to participate a music training program in Finland alongside with Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival. In 2019, his chamber group was awarded first prize in Thailand International Wind Symphony Competition and his quintet group also represented the academy and performed in Macau 2019. In 2022, he was invited to join the Rome Chamber Music Festival.

Over the years, Yim also actively participates in many masterclasses and workshops and festivals. Yim participated classes with Mr. Ricardo Terzo, Mr. Carlo Colombo, Mr. Denial Jemison, Mr. Matthias Racz and more.

He is a member of Young Pro Platform under The Orchestra Academy of Hong Kong and a committee member of The Bassoonion, a local organization promoting the bassoon. He has written serval arrangement works for bassoon ensemble groups. He is now active in teaching and performing.

Johnny Lau

Johnny Lau

Johnny is an active trumpeter based in Hong Kong, a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he majored in trumpet. He performs regularly with various orchestras and ensembles throughout Hong Kong.

Lau began studying the trumpet in secondary school, training under notable teachers including Benjamin Chan, Elaine Yeung, Joseph Ngan, and Fung Ka Hing. He frequently participated in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Sergei Nakariakov, James Thompson, Chris Martin, Éric Aubier, Hannes Läubin, and German Brass.

After graduating from the University of East Anglia in the UK, Liu served as a trumpeter with the UEA Symphony Orchestra from 2013 to 2016, performing at various venues across the UK. To further his studies in trumpet performance, he joined the Bachelor of Music program at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2021.

Lau engages in diverse musical projects, recordings and performances in jazz and pop music, collaborating with artists such as Jason Kui at Ko Shan Fest, Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra, and participating in the recording of Lil’ Ashes (小塵埃) - "Let Me Go" (煙消散了). He has also performed at events like COLLAB Jan Curious x Fountain de Chopin Big Band and Free Jazz Festivals.

Since returning to Hong Kong in 2016, Lau has been a regular member in various ensembles, regularly appearing with groups such as the Happy-Go-Lucky Big Band, Fountain de Chopin Big Band, and the Hong Kong Symphony Wind Orchestra.

Mr Chin

Albert Chin is a passionate violinist born in Hong Kong. He began playing violin at the age of 4. His talent was nurtured, and by age 12 he achieved an ATCL trinity diploma, with the enlightenment of Ernesson Chiu, the founder of Centre Stage (Hong Kong). He further study music as an undergraduate at the Hong Kong Baptist University, mentored by Ray Tsoi and Gary Ngan. He studied Royal Northern College of Music Master of Performance with scholarship, under the tutelage of Callum Smart and Leland Chen.

In addition to his education, Chin played with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, winning various competitions including the 6th Hong Kong Virtuoso Music Competition and the Hong Kong Youth competition. During his bachelor’s degree, he performed with the Collegium Musicum Hong Kong, and since that time, he has appeared in different world leading side-by-side orchestral programs with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Halle Orchestra, and the Manchester Camerata.

Chin’s professional career has been punctuated by widely acclaimed performances throughout Korea, Italy, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom. Furthermore, he has attended plentiful masterclasses conducted by world renowned violinists and soloists namely Ning Feng, Pavel Fischer and Ben Holland.

As an acting music director of the Hong Kong Gifted Education Teachers’ Association, Chin has years of experience in teaching students of all levels, including but not limited to Tseung Kwan O Government Primary School, G.T (Ellen Yeung) College and HKMLC Queen Maud Secondary School.

Caleb Li

Caleb Li

Caleb is a Hongkongese violist, composer, and violinist who works as a professional musician, teaching and performing professionally.

He began his musical journey at the age of five as a violinist and later embraced roles as a composer and violist. Caleb has performed across Europe and Asia, including Switzerland, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, China and Hong Kong. He has participated in several music festivals in Europe and received the title of 'Hong Kong Youth Musician Representative' from the Hong Kong Youth Concerto (HKYC) in 2023. As an orchestral musician, he performs with professional orchestras in both the UK and Hong Kong. He has held leadership positions in different orchestras, including Principal Viola in the Royal College of Music Opera Orchestra, Principal Viola in the Hong Kong Youth Philharmonia, and Principal Viola in the University of London Symphony Orchestra, as well as leadership roles in various recording projects and classical performances.

Caleb has trained many promising young musicians. Several of his students are currently studying music in college, and some have achieved excellence in music competitions.

Caleb graduated with First Class Honours in BA Music from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he studied violin, viola, and composition. He then attended the Royal College of Music in London, receiving full tuition support from the college. During his studies, he focused on violin, viola, and composition, and several of his compositions have been premiered in Asia, Europe, and the USA.
