Joey Ho
Being an active musician in Hong Kong, Ho has collaborated with well known conductors, soloists, composers and artists, including Elizabeth Adams, Francesca Anderegg, Elim Chan, Jimmy Chiang, Sharon Choa, Michaël Cousteau, Cui Zheng-Rong, Alan Cumberland, Fan Tao, Natasha Farny, Patrick Furrer, Hsu Wei-En, Emmanuelle Huynh, Jang Yoo-Jin, Nicholas Kok, Joseph Koo Kar-Fai, Gwen Krosnick, Lang Lang, Leung Kin-Fung, Andrew Ling, Liu Kuok Man, Lorin Maazel, Pietro Mianiti, Andrew Mogrelia, Janusz Olejniczak, Richard Yongjae O’Neill, Richard Rosenberg, Perry So, Josef Špaček, Kiril Stankow, Mladen Tarbuk, Yang Xiao-Yu, Jaap van Zweden, etc. He has also received guidance from Elizabeth Adams, Michael Gurevich, Jiang Yi-Wen, Antoinette Lohmann, Todd Phillips, Joan Plana, Emily Daggett Smith, Simon Smith, Ralph de Souza, Nancy Zhou, etc.
Ho is also an active participant in chamber and orchestral performances. He has received ensemble guidance from Arcangelo, Ivan Chan, Endellion String Quartet, Shane Levesque, Hui Ling, Jaap ter Linden, Miami String Quartet, Orion String Quartet, Sally Sanford, Shanghai Quartet, Ray Wang, etc. Ho had collaborated with Stephen Hung in 2015 to give a violin & piano duo recital under the The Celeste Concerts series at All Saints’ Church in Hong Kong. As first violinist, Ho also led the Chinese-Western ensemble accompanying the premiere performances of Cityscape II in 2018. Apart from ensemble performances, Ho has taken part in different orchestras, including Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Orchestra, Hong Kong Inheritage Philharmonic, Global Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong International Youth Philharmonia, Modern Symphony Orchestra, Nan Xi Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra, HKAPA Academy Symphony Orchestra, HKAPA Chamber Orchestra, etc. He was also selected as a member of Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra delegation to Shanghai World Expo in 2010 and Yekaterinburg, Russia in 2015, a tour member of Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra to Beijing, China in 2016, a member of HKAPA Academy Strings Orchestra delegation to Kuandu Arts Festival, Taipei in 2017, and a member of Global Symphony Orchestra representing Hong Kong in Chopin Piano Festival Opening Concert in Guangzhou, China in 2019. He was also invited to participate in the New Year Concert 2020 televised by CCTV. Ho had also been selected as part of the strings orchestra in recording Arnold Schoenberg’s Transfigured Night with Naxos in Maryland, USA in 2017.
Ho has received a handful of scholarships and financial assistances, including Society of the Academy for Performing Arts Scholarship, Grantham Scholarship, Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation Scholarship and HKSAR Government Reaching Out Award. He has received for two consecutive years, 2017 & 2018, a full scholarship including tuition and board for participating in The National Music Festival at Chestertown, MD. Ho has also received a scholarship for tuition and board for taking part in the workshop Rethinking Bach at Tokai University, Japan, and a scholarship for attending the Early Music Summer School hosted by Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

How to Book a Lesson
Lesson Booking Procedure: | |
1. | Submit student information; The tutor will respond according to the information.Messages between student/tutor will be screenshotted or forwarded through M5 Music.* |
2. | Discuss and arrange the lesson time, location, tuition fee, etc. |
3. | The lesson will be confirmed after completing the payment of the Tuition of the First Lesson. |
4. | Take the lesson according to the booking time. |
5. | The second lesson and beyond are arranged by the student/tutor themselves. |

Is it Allowed to Contact the Tutor before Making Payment?
Protecting tutors’ personal privacy is our job; Tutors need to avoid unnecessary leakage of privacy.
Before student/parent makes payment: | |
i. | Some tutors do NOT accept direct contact. |
ii. | Some tutors will call student/parent with a “Hidden Number”.* |
iii. | Some tutors accept to contact student/parent through various ways.* |
* | After contacting the tutor, if the student/parent intends to take a lesson, the tuition of the first lesson has to be paid to M5 Music before having lesson. |
Tuition of the First Lesson
The tuition of the first lesson is charged by M5 Music (accept Bank Transfer or FPS); Students do NOT need to pay additional fee for the first lesson.
Tuition of the Second Lesson and Beyond
Starting from the second lesson, please pay tuition directly to the tutor. Generally, four lessons will be calculated as one session. Please check with your tutor about the payment method for the second lesson and beyond.
No Free Trail Lesson
M5 Music and all tutors do NOT offer free trial lessons. All “trial lessons” are considered as the “first lesson”.
Student's Absence Notice
Student’s absent must be proposed 24 hours before the lesson time. Otherwise, it will be regarded as “Impromptu Absence”. Providing a make-up lesson or not will be decided by the tutor him/herself. Hereby declare, M5 Music will NOT provide refund for “Impromptu Absence” even if the tutor does not want to provide a make-up lesson.
Typhoons and Rainstorms Arrangement
If the first lesson is affected by typhoon and rainstorm warning, M5 Music can assist both parties to reschedule the lesson.
Refund Policy
We only provide a refund if the tutor is absent on the original booking time, and cannot provide a make-up lesson for the next 14 days. Apart from this, we do not accept any refund request.
