Winner of the Concerto Trial at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), Alice Hui Ka-ching performed Nielsen’s Flute Concerto with the Academy Symphony Orchestra in 2016. She was chosen as one of the “Young Music Makers 2017” and was awarded the “Adjudicators’ Choice”. In this “Young Music Makers” programme hosted by Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Radio 4, she recorded a CD and appeared in a series of radio and television programmes. She was furthermore invited to record for Hong Kong Museum of Art’s “the Sound of Art” series in 2021.
As an orchestral player, Alice has been a freelance flutist and piccoloist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Musica Viva Hong Kong. She was also invited to play as Principal Flute at the Inheritage Philharmonic in 2020. Alice was Principal Flute of the Hong Kong Pro Arte Orchestra for 5 years and was a touring member of the Asian Youth Orchestra in 2015. As an enthusiastic educator, she is the current flute faculty at HKAPA junior school, Music Children Foundation and Haw Par Music.
Graduated from HKAPA with a Bachelor of Music degree with First Class Honours, majoring in flute under the tutelage of Olivier Nowak, Alice was awarded a 2-year full scholarship by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to pursue her postgraduate study at Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris under the tutelage of Vicens Prats, Principal Flute of l’Orchestre de Paris. Being also awarded full scholarship by the Ecole Normale for 2 years, she completed her Diplôme Supérieur d’Enseignement and Diplôme Supérieur d’Execution, both with all votes and congratulations from the jury and got the First Prizes in 2018 and 2019. Later on, she was admitted to the second year of the Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste to study with the international soloist, Mihi Kim. She also studied piccolo with Pierre Monty, Principal Piccolo of l’Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux.
Alice will start working with and receiving training from the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra as a full-time flutist in the coming season of 2021/22.

Lesson Booking Procedure: | |
1. | Submit student information; The tutor will respond according to the information.Messages between student/tutor will be screenshotted or forwarded through M5 Music.* |
2. | Discuss and arrange the lesson time, location, tuition fee, etc. |
3. | The lesson will be confirmed after completing the payment of the Tuition of the First Lesson. |
4. | Take the lesson according to the booking time. |
5. | The second lesson and beyond are arranged by the student/tutor themselves. |

Before student/parent makes payment: | |

* | After contacting the tutor, if the student/parent intends to take a lesson, the tuition of the first lesson has to be paid to M5 Music before having lesson. |
The tuition of the first lesson is charged by M5 Music (accept Bank Transfer or FPS); Students do NOT need to pay additional fee for the first lesson.
Starting from the second lesson, please pay tuition directly to the tutor. Generally, four lessons will be calculated as one session. Please check with your tutor about the payment method for the second lesson and beyond.
M5 Music and all tutors do NOT offer free trial lessons. All “trial lessons” are considered as the “first lesson”.
Student’s absent must be proposed 24 hours before the lesson time. Otherwise, it will be regarded as “Impromptu Absence”. Providing a make-up lesson or not will be decided by the tutor him/herself. Hereby declare, M5 Music will NOT provide refund for “Impromptu Absence” even if the tutor does not want to provide a make-up lesson.
If the first lesson is affected by typhoon and rainstorm warning, M5 Music can assist both parties to reschedule the lesson.
We only provide a refund if the tutor is absent on the original booking time, and cannot provide a make-up lesson for the next 14 days. Apart from this, we do not accept any refund request.
